Off to PEI and Nova Scotia

After much bouncing around of ideas, we made an almost on-the-spur-of-the-moment decision to drive down to PEI for the funeral tomorrow. I type this as we're chugging along the 401 at the moment.

With airline prices being really high for flights on short notice and an asinine Air Canada policy that bereavement fares only being applied to international flights, we decided that it'd be worth making this an extra-long weekend and drive out there. We're just flying by the seat of our pants, but am currently awaiting word from my dad in Halifax if they'd mind having us over for a couple nights after we're in Charlottetown for the funeral. We figure we'll just drive as far as we can today then find a place to crash, then find a place to stay in Charlottetown tomorrow night, then go to Halifax for two nights (only a 3 hour detour) and then head home on Sunday. We've arranged to be off through Monday and return to work on Tuesday.

Mmmmm, ocean air here I come!
